CERN has been a member of the Geneva based association "Le respect, ça change la vie” since 2010.

2014 saw the launch of a new respectful workplace campaign, under the auspices of the CERN Ombud, with the aim of continually renewing our commitment to this initiative by working proactively to maintain awareness and ensure a culture of mutual respect in our everyday working life.

As some of our colleagues have suggested, promoting a respectful workplace is all about creating a working environment where colleagues are “courteous, attentive, empathic, helpful and understanding,” and where each person “takes responsibility for working with others in a spirit of trust and collaboration” that is fully in line with the Organization’s values.
